Pop

Making pop music, pop choreography, or pop art is a way to tap into a light vibe, while at the same time permitting (or playing with) the aspect of kitsch/cliche, broad appeal, and providing a structure for learning how to be very clear in your moves. Playing with the pop genre can also be super fun!

My invitation to you:

Play with pop. To make your own pop piece in any channel, the following steps may help:

  1. Think of a catchphrase, pose, iconic image or “signature move” that you could use to play with. Be as ironic or sincere as you please.

  2. Think of some genre-rules for pop. For example, in song, the list may include: no more than 3:30 minutes long, must be catchy, often uses synthetic sounds, uptempo.

Here is one from me. In this song I play with finding a lightness around and within a very intense feeling. This song was created in the 7X7 frame.

Lyrics:

I want to be unified as one whole field. I want to be nullified in nil point field. I want to be harmonized as one tone. I want to be neutralized across all poles.

I want to be reconciled of inner fights. I want to give up my plan to guiding lights. I want to melt down all the structures, built on holographic ruptures.

I’m so tired of feeling lonely. I’m so tired of feeling like I am the only one.

I want to be unified in open source, free to flow a natural course. I want to rip out all archaic code that drains our life and says it’s us that owes.

I want to be unified, I want to be unified, I want to be unified as one whole life

I’m so done with feeling lonely. I’m so done with feeling like I am the only one.
